This article will focus exclusively on how the concept of the hidden curriculum is manifested in leadership contexts. Jackson’s work related to the ‘hidden curriculum’ has taken on a life of its own, as there is so much transference and application in many other fields such as leadership, organizational behavior and socialization in general. His ground-breaking research sheds a bright light on the many different ways that students are influenced and shaped by their surroundings and environment that go well beyond their formal instruction.
Through his research, he found that many unwritten rules, values and behaviors were learned through interactions within specific contexts.
